about

"The Mountain King" is a long master craftsman's album with Music with capital "M" at its barycentre. It begins with the mild synthetic beats of "Northlands", chomping at the bit over a grand piano cascade, slowly spreading into "How I Feel" uplifting extended bass notes and a magnificent phrasing of delicate flutes and jazzy drums.
In "Zelda," the mood get darker and the sky becomes of steel while arcane choirs lurk behind elegant deceptive arpeggios. As time passes tamely, hi-tech experimental breaks and adulterated quirks bring us to a whirl of fast paced percussion and a steady kick drum rolling over smokey busy oriental roads. At its bull's eye, the album goes straight into the middle of an energetic dancefloor, with sophisticated peak-time club fillers soaked by punchy kicks, fragrant hi-hats and dramatic arpeggios, always captured in evocative atmospheres. On the the second disc, the journey retakes breath with a sumptuous harmonic transaction on "Others", before it becomes darker again into a nightfall of relentless bass notes and angry computer bleeps. A descent into a digital underworld that dissolves itself into the climax of an high-energy radiant progression into a celestial highway. "The King", Cat vs Dog" and the 2001 version of "March of the Trolls" maintain a strong electromotive power, keeping the feet on dance territories but winking to a dystopic far future.
The third chapter of this majestic work sublimates from the velvety mallets of "Flower Duet" through the fast-paced resonances of "Fall" and the hypnotic sequences of "Holy Morning". Riding the dusk, the ravey states of being of "Thriller" propel us to a softening and blurring descent to the end of these dreamlike deeds, under a steel sky covered by gloomy stardust. Ten Walls wisely depicts a sonic masterpiece blending with harmony genres and styles, assimilating complex orchestration into electronic dance music
